South Korean telecom giant KT Corp. said Wednesday it signed an agreement with
Symantec Korea, the local unit of the U.S. security software manufacturer
Symantec Corp., to boost cooperation in the development of security
services.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two companies
will ramp up joint efforts to expand security services using various cyber
security technologies, KT said in a press release.
The move is
designed to create a synergy by combining KT's marketing and sales channels with
Symantec's technological skills, it added.
In line with the agreement,
KT plans to tap into new security markets and advance its security functions in
mobile office and other information and technology services.
KT also
said it will join hands with Symantec Korea to create new business projects in
the security market and effectively respond to cyber attacks.
