Korea’s exports grows 33% from October 1-10

According to Pulse by Maeil Business News Korea,

South Korea’s exports rose for a 12th straight month in September 2024, with a surge of 33.2 percent during the first ten days of October.

The country’s overseas sales for the October 1st to 10th period rose 33.2 percent year-on-year to $15.3 billion, trade data showed on Friday. Exports of semiconductors grew for eleventh consecutive month since November 2023, rising 45.5 percent along with gains across automobiles and steel products.

By destination, exports to the United States jumped 33 percent, and China-bound shipments were up 22 percent.

Imports rose 3.2 percent in early October to $17.4 billion, with gains in semiconductors, gas, and automobiles, while Korea posted a trade deficit of $2.1 billion in the period.
