According to Yonhap News,

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Bo-in – To support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and middle-market companies facing trade difficulties due to high foreign exchange rates and export controls imposed by major nations, MOTIR (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 12th that they will launch the '4th Phase of the 2026 Emergency Support Voucher Program' valued at KRW 5 billion.

The Export Voucher Program issues virtual coupons funded by government subsidies and corporate contributions, allowing companies to select and utilize the export services they need.

The value of the issued vouchers ranges from KRW 20 million to KRW 150 million per company, varying based on the industry sector and annual sales revenue.

MOTIR and KOTRA will provide support for a total of 12 months running through January 2027, with retroactive coverage extending back to service fees incurred since February of this year.

Specialized services have also been established to alleviate corporate hurdles.

For export firms grappling with heightened raw material import costs and foreign exchange risks due to the high exchange rate, a new advance payment support system for exchange rate fluctuation insurance has been introduced to help businesses preemptively manage currency volatility. Under this system, cost settlements can be processed even if the expiration date of the exchange rate fluctuation insurance falls after the voucher agreement date.

Additionally, the maximum limit for using trade insurance and guarantee service vouchers has been raised from KRW 10 million to KRW 20 million.

For exporters confronting tighter trade regulations and strategic material controls imposed by major countries, the program will offer specialized consulting services regarding regulatory response strategies and risk management.

The application period for the program runs until the 21st, and detailed information can be found on the official Export Voucher website (www.exportvoucher.com).
