(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced September 6 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on September 4 in Beijing, China to encourage companies in Korea and China to capitalize on the free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries.
The two organizations will jointly carry out exchange projects between companies in both countries and promotional projects to benefit from the bilateral FTA. They will also cooperate to provide legal support for investment and intellectual property rights, conduct trade promotion training programs and facilitate the exchange of information.
"KOTRA and the CCPIT are the leading national trade promotion organizations of both countries, which have maintained a proactive relationship since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and China in 1992. The MOU will help the companies of both countries capitalize on the bilateral FTA and cooperate more closely to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries," said KOTRA CEO Jaehong Kim.
