On May 11, Invest KOREA attended a luncheon hosted by the Seoul Japan Club (SJC), a meeting of Japanese businesses in Korea.
Companies from both countries discussed bilateral cooperation in different investment sectors and ways that the government could help resolve grievances.
Joo Hyung-hwan, Minister of Trade, Industry & Energy and Jeffrey I. Kim, the Foreign Investment Ombudsman attended the event, during which the SJC Chairman of the Board of Directors and member companies discussed labor, taxation, finance and intellectual property rights.
Minister Joo and other relevant parties accepted proposals on reviewing the K-Mark Certification Scheme, revision of regulations unjustly rewarding patentees due to the delayed release of drugs, requirement clarification upon employment regulation changes, extension of cumulative international transaction reports and easing of national standards (KC) certification requirements.
