The Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced that it will hold the 14th Job Fair for Foreign-Invested Companies at COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on June 4-5.

The Job Fair for Foreign-Invested Companies has been held since 2006, becoming the largest recruitment support for foreign invested companies in Korea. Approximately 160 foreign invested companies are planned to participate including SEIMENS, 3M, HP, and Standard Charted Bank. Last year’s job fair was participated by 139 companies and 14,000 job-seekers.

The job seekers who want to join the job fair are advised to make online application on the website (www.jobfairfic.org). Those who made application online in advance are able to save the time required to register on site and eligible to take part in giveaway events. It is also possible to register on site on the day of job fair.

Meanwhile, KOTRA is to host events in other regions as well to offer job seekers opportunities to land a job at foreign-invested companies. On May 30, KOTRA will run a “Foreign-Invested Companies Recruitment Booth” during Busan Job Fair (www.busanjob.net) at BEXCO, Busan. In the later half of this year, KOTRA is scheduled to host job fairs exclusively for foreign-invested companies in North North Chungcheong (September), North Jeolla (September), and Ulsan (November).

Director-General Heo Jin-won of KOTRA's Foreign Firm Employment Support Team said, “Foreign-invested companies tend to use on-demand recruitment more than regular, open requirement,” stressing that “If you submit English resume online in advance, or hand it over to HR staff on site, they might contact you later on, leading to employment opportunities. So it’s important to make thorough preparation in advance and be patient.”
