KOTRA starts ‘Global Jump 300’ to help startups “jump” into overseas markets
Plans to select a hundred candidates until Feb. 25, gradually increasing the number over the next three years
Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA: President and CEO, Pyung-Oh, Kwon) is embarking on what’s called ‘Global Jump 300’, a part of support programs to help startups or would-be entrepreneurs by each growth stage, who wish to pave the way for expanding into global markets.
The ‘Global Jump 300’, an intensive and customized support program designed by how to approach global markets and where to target, helps startups find overseas sales channels to boost export, attract FDI and promote global entrepreneurship. Starting from a hundred enterprises this year, KOTRA is planning to increase the number to 300 over the next three years.
Roughly 60 groundbreaking startups who’ve been through series A funding and 10 social entrepreneurial ventures to scale up, along with 30 global enterprises will be selected as potential candidates to join the program until Feb. 25.
The details of the Global Jump 300 are as follows.
▲Provide KOTRA’s executive consultants’ customized one on one biz-coaching service, as part of global market entry strategies. ▲Help entrepreneurs take part in the world’s famous startup festivals such as Collision Conference or Tech Crunch Disrupt, a great opportunity for the attendees to pitch a panel of global investors. ▲Support IR, mainly targeting global corporate venture capitalists (CVC) such as Bayer. ▲Help early stage startups apply for global accelerators’ program such as Y Combinator to find a new source of funding. ▲Make connections with VC firms and world’s fast growing crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo or ZecZec.
Additionally, Startup experts at KOTRA’s 20 overseas offices across the world provide insights, from funding to terms sheets, potential buyers and IR marketing service for local VC to give founders who join the courses of global entrepreneurship. These enthusiastic participants will be chosen by a team of panels (like London Tech Start), judging who fits the best for global accelerator programs, right after going through multi-steps of screening process.
