KOTRA to hold ‘2022 PINVEST DAY’ on commemoration of its 60th anniversary on June 23

On June 23, KOTRA (President & CEO Yu Jeoung-yeol) will hold the ‘2022 PINVEST (Pinvest: Pinpoint+Invest) DAY’, customized business meetings and investment briefing to support foreign investment consultations through the Metaverse platform as part of the project to commemorate the 60th anniversary of KOTRA.

This event was first proceeded as the pilot project for digital transformation in December, last year. At that time, △increasing customer utility by cutting time and cost △establishing a venue to share information and insights on foreign investment attraction through network between government, local governments, and KOTRA. Accordingly, KOTRA plans to hold this event on a regular basis to provide timely and effective information to foreign investors and foreign-invested companies.

This year, in addition to a briefing session on ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance), which is in the limelight as a global trend, the Seoul Investment Office and local governments including Incheon, Gangwon, Daegu, North/South Chungcheong, North/South Jeolla, and North/South Gyeongsang have expanded the number of regional consultation booths (8 -> 10) to be engaged in consultation on investment incentives and industry sectors. In addition, 3 corporate booths will be set up to introduce general and ESG-related financial products (deposits, loans, etc.) of Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Kookmin Bank to foreign-invested companies through public-private cooperation.

On this ‘2022 PINVEST DAY’, consulting will be provided for potential foreign investors such as Switzerland, Australia, China, and Japan on the methods and procedures for establishing a company, as well as the tax system that foreign-invested companies need to know. As there are still restrictions to movement in place despite the easing of the spread of COVID-19 in Korea, communication between Avatars on the Metaverse platform is expected to take root as a new digital face-to-face method.

Kang Jang-jin, head of the KOTRA Foreign Investor Support Center, said, “KOTRA Foreign Investor Support Center provides comprehensive investment consulting through the central government, local governments and executive consultants in accordance with the trends of government’s foreign investment attraction policy. By utilizing the platform, available all the time, we will respond to the consulting needs of foreign investors and foreign-invested companies to increase the possibility of investing in Korea.”
