Held at COEX in Seoul for two days starting from Nov. 14, marking its 17th anniversary
Joined by as many as 175 popular foreign-invested companies including Applied Materials, 3M, Boeing, and Citibank
Held as a large-scale offline event, with participating foreign-invested companies planning to hire 1,700 young jobseekers
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Lee Chang-yang) and organized by KOTRA (President Yu Jeong-yeol), the "Job Fair for Foreign-Invested Companies" is to open on Nov. 14, at COEX, Seoul. The event has been held every year since 2006, and now commemorates its 17th anniversary this year, establishing itself as Korea's leading job fair for foreign-invested companies job.
In the fair, 175 foreign-invested companies will partake, boasting the largest scale ever among the ones held so far. Based on parent companies, △76 European companies, △55 Asian companies, and △ 43 North American companies from a total of 24 countries, are to particiate by region. Among them are 17 Fortune 500 companies and 58 Forbes Global 2000.
Enterprises in various industries, such as Applied Materials, 3M Korea(3M), Boeing Korea, CitiBank, and Otis Elevator which are preferred by jobseekers, are also taking part in the event, posting 1.700 job openings to find talent. Moreover, the fair consists of △ corporate counseling center, △JOB concert (special lecture and briefing on employment), △One-on-one consulting session (resume, interview, and MBTI-based career consulting), and △on-site events.
In addition, jobseekers will have a chance to meet HR managers and receive one-on-one in-depth consultation. And hence, they can also seek to submit their curriculum vitae to a company or get employment opportunities while receiving professional advice on employment preparation through one-on-one consulting sessions.
Officials from the KOTRA Foreign Investment Support Center(FISC), which comprehensively conducts consultations and supports foreign-invested companies, will also participate in the event and help with labor consultations. Furthermore, the PINVEST DAY project - which uses the Metaverse platform Gathertown to run investment incentive briefings, investment seminars and counselings - will be presented on-site.
KOTRA's President Yu Jeong-yeol expressed, "about 15,000 foreign-invested firms in Korea contribute to roughly 5.6%of the total employment," adding, "we hope that this job fair will serve as a practical opportunity for jobseekers to get a job at foreign-invested companies."
