□ (Background) For registration as a water treatment facility operator, the KHNP made a new condition that a company should acquire a license for electric works issued by the Korean government.

□ (Main Issue) As foreign companies had already pointed out that the KHNP only acknowledged construction projects that were made after the acquisition of a Korean license for electric works, the issue was deemed another entry barrier to global companies.

□ (Resolution Process) The Ombudsman sent an e-mail to the President and CEO of the KHNP to improve the system in line with the global bidding standard to give equal opportunities to foreign companies.

□ (Result) Based on the MOSF’s new administrative interpretation, the KHNP changed the rule to recognize the construction achievements of a parent company of a foreign
