With the development of ethanedinitrile (EDN), which is appropriate to disinfect wood as its penetration is high at low temperature, this Partial Amendment aims to add EDN to the types of pesticides for the standards of facilities and equipment such as a gas concentration meter, trace gas detector, and gas mask, which are required to report a pest control business for imported or exported plants so that EDN can be used for pest control in imported or exported plants, and include additional facilities and equipment as required by the reporting standards of a pest control business for imported or exported plants, while improving and supplementing shortcomings observed in the operation of the current system by changing from 5 acute toxicity chemical categories to 4 and from 3 acute environmental toxicity chemical categories to 1 as guidelines (June 2019) were prepared for the classification and labeling standards of chemicals in Korea, which used to be different across different ministries, based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
