1. Reasons for Enactment
This Notice integrates and announces detailed matters necessary for the curriculum for education and regular training programs to meet the qualification standards for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) members and curriculum implementation under Article 53 and Article 57 of the Animal Protection Act and Article 32 (4) and Article 36 of the Enforcement Rule of the same Act.
2. Major Provisions
A. Matters concerning target learners, educational institutions, etc. (Article 3 to Article 4)
- Target learners: Persons who intend to receive education to meet the qualification standards for IUCAC members in accordance with Article 32 (1) 3, (2) 2 and 4, and (3) 3 of the Enforcement Rule of the Animal Protection Act, and IUCAC members pursuant to Article 51 of the Animal Protection Act
- Scope of educational institutions: Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, private animal protection organizations, universities, Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries*

B. Matters concerning the recognition of educational institutions (Article 5 to Article 6, [Table 1])

C. Matters concerning administration of education (Articles 7 through 12, [Table 2])
- Educational institutions shall obtain approval of the annual education plan from the head of the Quarantine Agency, and then administer the education and report on the results.
- The head of the Quarantine Agency may take such measures as giving guidance to educational institutions, conducting inspections, or issuing corrective or improvement orders.
