1. Reasons for Amendment
The Emergency Medical Service Act was amended to add tourist destinations and tourism complexes that are in actual operation and have been specified by Presidential Decree to the scope of facilities required to have emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, such as an automated external defibrillator, and newly insert provisions to impose an administrative fine on any person who fails to display a sign board on how to use emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, such as an automated external defibrillator. Accordingly, this Amendment prescribes details on facilities in tourist destinations and tourism complexes that are required to have an automated external defibrillator, adds standards on imposing administrative fines, and otherwise prescribes matters delegated as intended by the Act.
