1. Reasons for Amendment

This Amendment improves the operating pressure for carbon dioxide fire suppression equipment pipe fittings and otherwise addresses and improves upon a number of weaknesses and inconsistencies that have emerged from the operation of the current system.

2. Major Provisions

A. Improve operating pressure standards for safety devices installed in header pipes (Article 4).

B. Improve the method of protective device installation and outdoor installation for actuators (Article 6).

C. Improve operating pressure standards for pipe fittings (Article 8).

D. Improve overpressure damper standards and newly insert other provisions for overpressure (suction) regulators (Article 17).

E. Newly insert provisions on odorizer installation (Article 19).
