1. Reason for revision

As the Emergency Medical Service Act has been revised (Law No. 20170; promulgation on January 30, 2024; implemented on July 31, 2024) to provide the basis for designating nighttime and holiday pediatric medical care institutions and to provide administrative and financial support, the proposed revision is intended to establish matters delegated by the laws and matters necessary for the enforcement thereof and to improve and supplement certain insufficiencies, including improvement of the legal terminology.

2. Main contents

A. Establishment of details related to the designation of nighttime and holiday pediatric medical care institutions (Article 21-2 of the draft).

The proposed revision specifies the methods and procedures for designation in accordance with the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare regarding the designation standards, methods, procedures, and work of nighttime and holiday pediatric medical care institutions, as delegated in Article 34-2 of the Act.
