1. Reason for revision and main contents

As Weather Industry Promotion Act was revised (Law No. 20227; promulgated on February 6, 2024; implemented on February 7, 2025) to provide the basis for the Commissioner of the Korea Meteorological Administration to designate and support Graduate School of Meteorological and Climate Data Convergence Analysis Specialization in order to cultivate professional manpower necessary for promotion of meteorological industry, it is intended to establish the matters delegated by laws and the matters necessary for enforcement of them by establishing the standards and procedures for designation of Graduate School of Meteorological and Climate Data Convergence Analysis Specialization and by deleting/improving the projects of Korea Metrological Institute, to establish regulations on return of licenses of weather forecasters and meteorological appraiser, and to improve reasons for return of licenses including cancellation/suspension of licenses.
