1. Reason for revision

The revision has been proposed to improve and complement certain deficiencies in the current system, including increasing the co-payment rate for mild emergency and non-emergency patients who are treated in accident and emergency wards, in order to enhance the efficient use of emergency medical resources.

2. Main contents

The co-payment rate has been raised to 90% for the emergency room treatment of mild emergency and non-emergency patients at any regional emergency medical centers, specialized emergency medical centers, or regional serious surgery centers based on the Korean Emergency Patient Severity Classification System (Appendix 6 of the draft).
