1. Reason for revision
The proposed revision aims to enhance the effectiveness of emission inspection for two-wheeled motor vehicles (hereinafter referred to as "motorcycles") by improving and complementing certain deficiencies identified during operation, such as improving inspection standards and methods, and refining provisions related to other laws.
2. Main contents
a. Provision of maximum allowed emission gas standards for motorcycles (Subparagraph 2 (a) of Appendix 21 of the draft).
○ Provision of emission standards for motorcycles which are currently manufactured and sold.
b. Securing of the effectiveness of inspections by clarifying the methods for periodic inspections.
○ Clarification of the usage method for the exhaust gas collection facility by designated providers of maintenance services (Note 4 of Subparagraph 1 of Appendix 22 of the draft).
○ Specification of the method of periodic inspection of motorcycles (Subparagraph 2 of Appendix 22 of the draft).
c. Update of provisions in connection with other laws*.
○ Improvement of management standards and national technical qualification designations for exhaust gas collection facilities (Appendix 23 of the draft).

○ Clarification of the methods of photographing periodic inspections of motorcycles and the preceding and following relationship of the qualification requirements (Subparagraph 2 and Subparagraph 3 of Appendix 24 of the draft).

○ Increase of the inspection period for precise automobile emission inspections from 63 days to 122 days (Subparagraph 9 (a) of Appendix 25 of the draft).

○ Clarification of the scope of firefighting vehicles that are excluded from the precise inspection of operational vehicles (Subparagraph 1 (a) 4 of Appendix 26 of the draft).
