1. Reasons for revision and main contents

 The Road Act has been revised (Law No. 19766; promulgated on October 24, 2023; implemented on October 25, 2024) to add the deployment of safety personnel to the mandatory measures to be taken by those who are permitted to occupy a part of a road space in order to prevent pedestrian safety accidents. The proposed revision aims to improve and complement certain deficiencies revealed in the operation of the current systems by stipulating the matters necessary for the implementation of the revised Act, such as the designation of facilities to which safety personnel should be deployed and procedures for their deployment, and by allowing banners posted at a banner posting facility, for which the occupation of a road space has already been permitted, to be exempted from obtaining a road space occupation permit.
