1. Reasons for revision and main contents
a. Reason for revision
The proposed revision is designed to stipulate the matters delegated by the Road Traffic Act and the matters necessary for its enforcement, because the Act has been revised (Law No. 19745; promulgated on October 24, 2023; implemented on October 25, 2024) to provide for a new type of conditional driver's license requiring the holder to affix a device preventing drunk driving, the items to be complied with by the holders of such a license, and the items related to the issuance of such a license.
b. Main contents
- It provides the standards, methods of installing and registering an anti-drunk-driving device, the registration procedure, timing, method, and other necessary matters for the submission of driving records and inspection.
- It provides detailed provisions concerning the issuance of driver's licenses conditional on the installation of an anti-drunk-driving device.
