1. Reason for revision 

Following the revision of the Drinking Water Management Act (February 20, 2024), the Enforcement Decree has been revised to reorganize delegated matters (~ February 21, 2025) and improve deficiencies in the current system.

2. Main contents

a. Provision of a period of suspension of the qualifications of technical personnel of drinking water quality inspection institutes.

1) In accordance with the newly inserted Article 43-2 (Suspension of Qualifications of Technical Personnel of Inspection Institutions) of the Drinking Water Management Act, the national technical qualifications of technical personnel who issue or create false inspection reports will be suspended for one year (Revised Article 17).

b. Introduction of a system for installment payment and deferred payment of fines.

1) Provision of statutory grounds for installment payment and deferred payment of fines or penalties by inspection institutions and drinking water-related business operators (Newly established Article 18 (5)).
