1. Reason for the Revision 

In accordance with the introduction and implementation of in-depth safety inspections due to the revision of the Tramway Transportation Act, the revised standards aim to present detailed inspection standards and methods and to improve and supplement the current shortcomings, in order to apply inspection standards and methods based on the past system to the new system.

2. Main Contents

a. The revision establishes in-depth safety inspection standards and methods in accordance with the introduction of a comprehensive safety inspection system for facilities that are over 10 years old (attached Table 2 of the draft).

b. The revision integrates the safety inspection standards and techniques that were previously managed separately into one in order to improve the effectiveness of inspections conducted according to the inspection standards (attached Table 1 of the draft).

c. The revision aims to improve the safety standards for insulation resistance and grounding resistance in accordance with the revised Korean Electric Installation Regulations and Electric Installation Technology Standards of 2021 (attached Table 1 of the draft).

d. The revision aims to improve the wire rope measurement methods, etc. so that the safety inspection standards and techniques established based on previous systems can be applied to new systems (attached Table 1 of the draft).
