1. Reason for the Revision
According to Article 11 of the Act on the Conservation and Use of Biological Diversity, the revision aims to prevent the indiscriminate exportation and commercial abuse of domestic endemic species and indigenous species by requiring a preliminary review when exporting valuable domestic native species abroad, and to improve the efficiency of the system by updating the list of designated species in consideration of various ecological, economic, and socio-cultural values.
2. Main Contents
a. Revision of the list of biological resources subject to the approval of outbound transfer (Revision of the attached Table of the draft).
○ The list has been revised to include a total of 5,834 species, an increase of 20 species compared to the previous notice issued on June 13, 2019.
※ The revision has added 278 species, removed 258 species, and updated the scientific names of 1,157 species, etc.
