1. Reason for the Revision 

As the Equal Employment Opportunity and Work-Family Balance Assistance Act, which is largely focused on reforming the childcare support system by extending the childcare leave period and expanding childbirth leave to spouses, has been revised, it is necessary to specify the specific scope of children with disabilities, which is one of the requirements for extending the childcare leave period.


2. Main Contents

a. The revision redefines the scope of disabled children, one of the requirements for extending the childcare leave period provided under the Equal Employment Opportunity and Work-Family Balance Assistance Act, as “disabled persons with severe disabilities” according to attached Table 1 of the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities (Article 15 of the draft).
