• The number of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country continues to increase due to carbon reduction policies, while the number of land-based fire incidents is also on the rise.

• Although no electric vehicle fire accidents have occurred on domestic vessels, there has been growing societal concern about fire risks following recent land-based electric vehicle fire incidents.

• In response, the aim is to establish fire suppression equipment standards for vessels transporting electric vehicles in order to enhance fire response capabilities and protect citizens' lives and property.
