- In accordance with the revision of the "Act on the Protection and Investigation of Subsurface Heritage" (promulgated on January 31, 2025, effective from August 1, 2025), the law now allows the National Heritage Administration to revoke the registration of an investigative agency in cases of serious accidents such as fatalities caused by the agency's intentional actions or negligence during excavation investigations. This amendment aims to set standards for administrative sanctions, suspension of operations, and the period of registration restrictions, as delegated by the law,

***Administrative penalties will be strengthened for agencies responsible for serious accidents such as fatalities caused by intentional or negligent actions during excavation investigations:
· (Suspension of operations/Appendix 4) Warnings, 1 year, 2 years → 6 months, 1.5 years, revocation of registration
· (Excavation permit restrictions/Appendix 2) Excavation permit restrictions on related representatives, excavation team leaders, or responsible investigators (none, 1 year, 2 years → 6 months, 1.5 years, 2 years)
· (New registration restrictions/Appendix 5) 2 years
