- In order to promote the use of recycled plastic materials, the "Act on the Promotion of Resource Conservation and Recycling" has been amended (Law No. 20856, promulgated on March 25, 2025, and to be implemented on September 26, 2025). The amendment adds entities that must report and be inspected for confirming and labeling the usage rate of recycled materials, and those who must use a certain percentage of recycled plastic materials in their products and packaging. This regulation aims to define the appropriate labeling of usage rates and ensure compliance with mandatory usage requirements, as delegated by the law.
