New substance addition based on the applicant's request.
1. Reason for Amendment
In response to recent demands for enhanced safety management of pet food and honeybee feed, the amendment seeks to strengthen sterilization and disinfection treatment standards, as well as heavy metal standards for feed. It also aims to reflect amendments to the "Animal Drug Handling Rules" by adding animal drugs to the scope of harmful substances in feed. The amendment will unify pet terminology and reflect new single ingredient feeds to update the regulations accordingly.
2. Key Contents
a. Unify the term "pet" (애완동물) to "companion animal" (반려동물) in feed-related names (Amendments to Article 3, Annexes 1, 3, 3-3, 5, 9, 10-2, 11, 13, 15, 16, and 23).
b. Add new registered single ingredient feeds (e.g., palm kernel oil, split frogwort, softened calcium, manganese oxide) (Amendments to Annexes 1 and 5).
c. For companion animal feed containing more than 50% poultry meat, strengthen radiation treatment levels to 20 kGy, and establish a new regulation for radiation treatment of honey used as feed for beekeeping at 15 kGy (Amendment to Annex 9).
d. Establish new chromium (Cr) standards for companion animal compound feed and reflect amendments to the "Animal Drug Handling Rules" by adding two types of animal drugs that must not be detected in feed (Amendment to Annex 16).
