1. Reason for Amendment
In accordance with Article 9 of the "Industrial Technology Leakage Prevention and Protection Act" (Designation, Modification, and Deletion of National Core Technologies), the amendment aims to revise the current list of designated national core technologies (Appendix), considering factors such as national security, the impact on the national economy, and domestic and international market share.
2. Key Contents
a. Revision of the National Core Technology List [Appendix]
- (New Designation) Three new technologies will be designated as national core technologies, considering the impact on national security and the national economy, as well as domestic and international market share. These include one technology in the electrical and electronics sector, one in the metals sector, and one in the aerospace sector.
- (Modification) In order to reflect changes in the technological environment and advancements, as well as to express terms accurately in practical usage, 15 technologies in six sectors, including semiconductors, metals, shipbuilding, automobiles, and railways, will be modified from the current list of designated national core technologies.
- (Comprehensive) The number of national core technologies will be expanded and modified from 76 technologies in 13 sectors to 79 technologies in 13 sectors.
