1. Reason for Amendment
There is a need to strengthen fire safety measures for certain fire-prone structures, such as underground parking lots for electric vehicles and lithium battery factories, following recent large fires.
※ Lithium battery factory in Hwaseong (June 4, 2024), underground parking lot in Cheongna, Incheon (August 1, 2024).

2. Key Contents
a. Install analog smoke detectors in electric vehicle charging areas (underground parking lots) to enable quick detection and prevent false fire alarms (Article 7, Paragraph 2).
b. Install smoke detectors in areas where ceiling beams meet to form "pockets" with a certain depth and area to allow for quick detection (Article 7, Paragraph 3, Subparagraph 2-2).
c. Install visual alarm devices in the workrooms, storage rooms, and charging rooms of lithium battery factories in a flashing form to enable quick fire detection and evacuation guidance for occupants (Article 8, Paragraph 2, Subparagraph 1).
