1. Background of Promotion

- Recently, cases of labeling and advertising food products using the names of highly popular pharmaceuticals, such as obesity treatments, have occurred, raising concerns over consumer confusion.
- Accordingly, requests were made during the 2025 National Assembly audit* and by the media, etc., to establish institutional improvement measures to prohibit the use of names similar to pharmaceuticals in food labeling and advertising.

2. Regulatory Content

- Specify labeling or advertising that may mislead consumers into perceiving food products as medicines.
- Prevent consumer confusion by amending the regulations to include food labeling and advertising that uses all or part of a pharmaceutical product name within the scope of unfair labeling and advertising.
