[Background for Promotion]

ㅇ In accordance with the current administration's national task (National Task 75: Building a country where all workers are healthy and safe), the government is promoting the phased introduction of universal industrial accident insurance, taking into account on-site demand for industrial accident compensation.

- Considering comprehensively that traffic accident investigators who perform on-site investigations of automobile accidents are continuously exposed to occupational accident risks such as secondary accidents, and following fact-finding surveys and collection of on-site opinions, it is intended to add traffic accident investigators to the scope of service providers under the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act to incorporate them as mandatory subjects for industrial accident insurance coverage.

[Regulatory Details]

ㅇ Employers who receive services from the relevant service providers and the service providers themselves each incur an obligation to pay 50% of the industrial accident insurance premiums.

- Pursuant to Article 48-6, Paragraph 6 of the Act on the Collection of Premiums for Employment Insurance and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, the service provider and the employer shall each bear 1/2 of the insurance premiums.
