According to the current Act, electricity business operators intending to perform installation work or modification work for electric utilities of the electricity business shall acquire certification from the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy for the work plan or report the work plan to the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy or head of si/do, and Korea Electrical Safety Corporation shall review the adequacy of technical standard, inspection methods, procedure, etc.
As the current Act has no legal basis for Korea Electrical Safety Corporation to review the work plan in advance, however, it is difficult for electricity business operators to expect the procedure to enable performing the electrical utility work of electricity business and to improve the safety of electrical utility work.
Therefore, the aim is to prepare the legal basis of the procedure for prior review of installation or modification plan of electrical utility work of the electricity business to be submitted by electricity business operators and charges concerned for Korea Electrical Safety Corporation (establishment of Article 61(5) and Article 97 of the draft).
