Support for emergency import customs clearance was requested given the disruption expected for the opening ceremony of the Korean corporation of the foreign-invested company due to the delayed import customs clearance, caused by the certification that was missing when the capital goods (equipment and materials for computers) were imported to Korea.
Resoultion and Results
(Resolution)
The Ombudsman reached out to the international express agencies and swiftly provided guidance on Korean certification in accordance with the Radio Waves Act, while reaching out to the import declaration customs officer and making a request for support.
(Result)
The goods of the corresponding case passed clearance on time thanks to the consideration of the customs, and the opening ceremony was held without disruption.
The foreign-invested company concerned was very appreciative of the active support provided by the Ombudsman and the KOTRA, and is expected to make follow-up investments in the future.
