(1) Reasons for Proposal

This Amendment aims to enable the installation of manually operated inclined plates for low-floor buses when installing wheelchair lift equipment; newly establish safety standards for internal equipment in low-floor buses; and provide detailed standards on standard models for the spread of fully-developed medium-sized low-floor buses.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Amend provision on installation of wheelchair lift equipmnet in low-floor buses from current ‘automatically operated footing’ to ‘footing’ (Article 2, subparagraph 3)

B. Prescribe detailed standards on standard model for medium-sized low-floor buses (attached Table 1)

C. Prescribe safety standards on wheelchair boarding space, anchor equipment and rear support fixture in low-floor buses (attached Table 2, newly inserted)
