(1) Reasons for Proposal

In accordance with the enactment of the Act on the Support for Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities, Older Persons, etc. and Promotion of Use Thereof (Law No. 13662, promulgated on Dec. 29, 2015, to enter into force on Dec. 30, 2018) whereby a national qualification system for assistive technology professionals is introduced, etc. to strengthen the expertise of providers of assistive device services for persons with disabilities, etc. and to enhance the quality of such services, this Amendment aims to prescribe matters necessary for the enforcement of the assistive technology professional system, including eligibility requirements for such professionals to take the national examination

(2) Major Provisions

A. Eligibility requirements, etc. for assistive technology professionals (Article 5)

1) Prescribe subjects and courses, etc. related to assistive engineering so as to be eligible to take the national examination for assistive technology professionals according to Article 15 of the Act

2) Hold a national examination for assistive techonlogy professionals one (1) or more times a year and prescribe the notice of the examination plan, the subjects of a written examination, the standards for passing, etc.
