(1) Reasons for Proposal

This Amendment to the Electromagnetic Compatibility Standards incorporates international standards to minimize the electromagnetic impact of photovoltaic power conversion systems, programmable logic controllers, and protective relays, and to promote the industry.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Clearly prescribe electromagnetic compatibility standards for programmable logic controllers by incorporating international standards (Article 5, attached Table 2)

B. Relax conducted disturbance standards for 75kV or higher to account for the electromagnetic environment of high-power photovoltaic power conversion systems, etc. (Article 6, paragraph 1; attached Table 3)

C. Newly insert electromagnetic compatibility standards for protective relays by incorporating international standards (Article 6, paragraph 4; attached Table 3-4)
