Fire ant (Solenopsis geminata) |
- Damage and pest control costs are on the rise due to the global spread of these ants, and they are continuing to enter the country. - Their venomous sting gives them an advantage in competing with native species and can even harm humans. - Their characteristics are very similar to those of the red imported fire ant, which has already been designated as an ecosystem-disturbing species. |
