1. Reasons for Amendment
In accordance with subparagraph 6-2 of Article 2 of the Act on the Conservation and Use of Biological Diversity, this Amendment designates as “species of concern for domestic inflow” those species with a risk of causing harm to the ecosystem if they are allowed to enter the Republic of Korea, thereby aiming to manage domestic imports and inbound transfers, ensure the safety of the ecosystem, and conserve biological diversity before such species enter the country.
2. Major Provisions
A. Designate additional species of concern for domestic inflow (attached Table amended)
ㅇ Designate as “species of concern for domestic inflow” 150 additional species* with a risk of causing harm to the ecosystem if they are allowed to enter the Republic of Korea.
* 9 species of mammals, 6 species of birds, 13 species of fish, 13 species of amphibians, 4 species of reptiles, 18 species of mollusks, 9 species of arthropods, 41 species of insects, 6 species of spiders, 31 species of plants
