1. Reasons for Amendment
The reason for this amendment is to address certain shortcomings that have become apparent in the operation of the current system, with the goal of facilitating the smooth training of specialists in Traditional Korean Medicine by realizing the criteria for designating oriental medicine hospitals, including annual patient treatment performance by specialty, which has been maintained since the implementation of the oriental medicine specialist system in December 1999.
2. Major Provisions
A. Improvement of Designation Criteria for Training Oriental Medicine Hospitals (Article 5 (1), Table 1 and Table 2)
1) From the designation criteria for general training and specialized training oriental medicine hospitals, the bed utilization rate with limited direct relevance to the training environment of Korean medicine specialists has been deleted in accordance with the Enforcement Rule for the Improvement of the Training Environment and Enhancement of the Status of Specialists Act.
2) The annual patient treatment performance criteria for each specialty of specialized training oriental medicine hospitals have been adjusted in accordance with the changes in major patient conditions, reflecting the current reality. For Oriental Internal Medicine and Oriental Gynecology, the criteria have been reduced, while for Acupuncture and Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine have been revised upward.
