1. Reasons for Proposal

Since it is necessary to limit the fishing of large-scale offshore fishing vessels to protect snow crab resources along the coast of Gangwon-do and to mediate the disputes arising between two different types of fishing vessels, gillnets and traps, this amendment aims to add the prohibition period for “snow crabs” to the prohibited area and period for the use of fishing gear by type of fishery business.

2. Major Provisions

A. Reorganize prohibited areas and periods for fishing gear use by type of fishery business (Attached Table 7)

Add the prohibition period for “snow crabs” to the prohibition period for the use of fishing gear for offshore eel trap fishing and offshore trap fishing to prohibit offshore snow crab trap fishing along the coast of Gangwon-do all year round.
