1. Reasons for Amendment

The Amendment prescribes distinct and highly visible registration license plates for corporate vehicles to prevent tax evasion on, and private use of, business vehicles by corporations and the public sector.

2. Major Provisions

A. Newly insert license plate specifications and applicability provisions for corporate motor vehicles

ㅇ Prescribe a definition of corporate motor vehicles (subparagraph 5 of Article 1-2).

ㅇ Prescribe a separate license plate type for corporate motor vehicles , and exclude corporate motor vehicles from the scope of applicability of EV license plates (subparagraphs 4 and 5 of Article 1-3).

ㅇ Prescribe a color for corporate motor vehicle license plates (Article 4 (1) and (4)). 

B. Simplify the procedure for modifying motor vehicle registration license plate specifications

ㅇ Improve operating procedures by prescribing that all applications to modify the specifications of a motor vehicle registration license plate shall be processed by vehicle registration offices (attached Forms 1 and 2 deleted).
