1. Reasons for Amendment

This Amendment reduces the maximum time taken to identify the holder of an author’s economic right of any work whose right holders are unidentified, or his/her place of residence, from 1 month to 20 days, thereby aiming to improve the speed and convenience of the statutory license system for the use of copyrighted works.

2. Major Provisions

A. Reduce the maximum time taken to identify the holder of author’s economic right of any works whose right holders are unidentified, or his/her place of residence, from 1 month to 20 days (Article 18 (1) 2)

B. Reduce the period during which a person who intends to use any work whose right holders are unidentified may receive a reply to a document with a fixed date sent to the copyright service provider, etc. to identify the holder of the author’s economic right or his/her place of residence.
