Reasons for Proposal

The current Act only stipulates work suspension in the event of an infectious disease such as COVID-19, and health measures are stipulated in the Rules on Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

However, in an unprecedented situation in which an infectious disease is spreading throughout an industry, thorough infection prevention measures are required in workplaces.

Therefore, in the event of an infectious disease such as Corona 19, this amendment aims to protect workers and businesses by preventing the spread of the epidemic early by allowing employers to stop working in the area, to order necessary disinfection and telecommuting, and to establish an obligation to notify for business owners and workers (Article 39 (2) through (4) newly inserted).

Major Provisions

In the event of an infectious disease such as COVID-19, allow employers to stop working in the relevant place and order necessary disinfection, telecommuting, etc., and establish the obligation to notify by employers and workers (Article 39).
