Reasons for Proposal
Recently, gender discrimination cases in hiring process have made headlines, such as awarding extra points to male applicants to increase their success rate. This has called for measures to secure fairness in hiring procedures.
Accordingly, the Amendment prohibits a job offerer from engaging in gender discrimination in hiring procedures on grounds that are not necessary for performance of duties and prescribes that the business and business site designated by Presidential Decree shall invovle external experts in hiring examinations to secure fairness (Article 3-2 newly inserted).
Major Provisions
Businesses and business sites designated by Presidential Decree shall ensure the fairness of hiring procedures by involving external experts in hiring examinations (Article 3-2).
